black and white color inspiration

I’ve been feeling a bit short on inspiration lately. It’s nothing to be alarmed about — this kind of thing happens when you’re constantly inundated with the latest in fashion, interiors, entertaining and food — but I’ve noticed that when this kind of burnout sets in, I find myself going back to basics. And who knows basics better than the French? From berets and stripes to subway tiles and Matisse, I seem to never tire of the classic French take on black and white… which is a comforting thing during these times of style fatigue. If history is any indication, this time next week I’ll be back to obsessing over a hip new favorite color or seasonal trend (culottes are giving me life, people!), but for now, I’m choosing to keep in simple.

You can never go wrong with a basic color like black! When I don’t know what to wear, a black outfit is my go-to.
