15 Rooms That Make Us Want To Wallpaper Everything In Sight

July 14th, 2017

For some of us, the word wallpaper is still cringe-inducing. We have memories of relatives’ dusty guest rooms decked in out-of-date florals, or renovation projects where the first thing we did is rip off yellowed wall coverings. But there’s no denying that, thanks to a new guard of wallpaper designers, it’s made a serious comeback! Some of our favorite rooms on the Internet are decked floor to ceiling with fun prints and patterns, and since it’s a trend that can be daunting to execute, we recommend starting with small spaces like a bathroom or laundry room. Scroll down to get inspired; I think #10 is my favorite!

Love all of these. The bolder, the better! The Leo’s Oyster Bar in SF is truly like escaping to an island in the middle of the city. I love the placement under the stairwell in number seven.

  2. Amazing roundup! We just recently wallpapered a feature wall in our nursery for our very first little one (due any day now!) and I’m equally obsessed. You can see it here:

I’m currently in the middle of the remodel of a house in which every room except the panelled den was wallpapered. When it was done twenty years ago, it was considered beautiful and stylish. Now it’s “what the hell were they thinking.” Before you go out and buy any wallpaper, please think at least ten years down the road. One of the biggest expenses of our remodel has been getting rid of the wallpaper and repairing the damage to the walls. I would personally paint stripes and/or stencils on the walls before I would wallpaper….and I hate to paint. Any paint treatment can be painted over and that’s cheap.
