These 12 Mascaras Are the Best of the Best

September 12th, 2016

I have a feeling that most women’s “desert island” makeup choice would be mascara. There’s nothing that adds polish and prettiness quite like it, but there are also about a thousand different options (with new ones hitting the market daily) claiming longer, thicker, curlier, fuller, or more natural lashes. How’s a girl to choose? We polled our beauty council of experts to find out the one brand of mascara that’s earned their loyalty and spill their tried-and-true tips for the perfect application.

  1. I’ve been using L’Oreal’s mascara for years and I’ve always been pleased with it. But The Too Faced and Benefit options sound like they’re worth a try. There is something exciting about trying new mascaras!

Off to the drugstore to look at the L’Oréal mascaras, must have been out to lunch for not knowing.

  3. I still love the CoverGirl mascaras – their mascara wands are just awesome! I’ve heard great things about the L’Oreal Carbon mascara featured here – might give it a whirl too.

Would you say that the L’Oreal Mascara is good for a sensitive skin? And does it last all day?

I have found that Tarte brand: Deluxe Lights, Camera, Flashes statement mascara is an awesome day or nighttime mascara!
It adds length and volume without weighing down your lashes, with also the added benefit of lasting all day and well into the nighttime hours without needing a touch up!

    NYX – Doll Eyes Mascara
    Comes in waterproof and regular.
About $11.00 so extremely reasonable for mascara compared to some of the $30+ brands and perfoms equally well- if not better. Works best when applied first coat from base to tip on both eyes and allowed to dry for about 30 seconds, then apply one more coat to entire lash and let dry again for 30 seconds. Now add as many coats as needed to achieve desired length and thickness, only from half way to tips of lashes. AMAZING results!!!! Not clumpy, waterproof stays put all day and easily removes with micellar water ( I use Avene or Biotherm). Worth a try for the price.
