15 Easy Ways to Embrace Fall

By Camille Styles
setting the fall table

Usually I spend the month of October bemoaning the fact that summer is over, but this year, I am SO pumped for fall. Maybe it’s because I’m dying to wear my new ankle boots, or maybe I’m just over the humidity of late summer in Austin. Whatever the reason, I can’t wait to enjoy evenings by the fire with a glass of pinot, wrap up in a cardigan for a neighborhood walk, and even start making my holiday shopping lists. While we’re waiting for truly chilly weather to hit, I thought it would be fun to round up our editor’s favorite products that are getting them in the fall spirit this year. Click through the slides, and let us know: how are you transitioning into a fall frame of mind?

Just swapped out my very summery turquoise sisal rug for a wool rug in shades of orange, moss and cream. Requires a little work and storage space, but it really changes the feel of the room. While I’m at it, I change my throw pillow covers to velveteen and textured cottons to make the couch feel cozy. Add a wool throw and you’re set!

Well, the weather in London at the moment is pretty good (well it is today) I tend to wear more orange and browns myself….and start buying more food to hoard!!

I need those pumpkin diffusers in my home! I’ve just started swapping out my summer clothes for fall — and changing my color palette to burgundy, olives, and navy. The Candy Corn is flowing and the Halloween decor has made an appearance, so for me it really feels like fall now!

I put on my fall yellow orange table cloths. Put out my pumpkin candles. Put out pumpkin potpourri and enjoy!

It’s been 100 degrees here in Los Angeles, but I’m still getting ready for the coming Autumn season! In anticipation, I’ve got my suede boots ready for the first cool day! Until then, I use small touches, such as placing pumpkins, leaf/flower & gourd arrangements in and around my house, changing the color palette in my living room, and enjoying making (and eating) my favorite harvest pumpkin and butternut soups! Think I’m going to have to go get that NEST Pumpkin Chai fragrance to finish it off.

Cute post! I’m definitely looking forward for chilly walks wrapped up in a big, cozy cardigan, wearing ankle booties, and sitting by the fire! This weather needs to cool down already!

I love putting a lot more wood décor into the house mixed with muslin and a couple shades of brown and orange.
