As we were discussing our upcoming Valentine’s Day adventures here at the CS office, we started reminiscing on how much we loved celebrating V-Day when we were kids. We all have memories of decorating a shoebox and having our friends at school stuff it with handmade Valentines. This year we’re helping you get in on the fun with three apothecary inspired DIY projects. While our last two Valentine’s Day DIYs were a bit more complicated, your kiddos can easily give you a hand with this project. Keep reading to stock up on the supplies you’ll need and instructions on how to make a sweet-smelling gift for your “sud muffin!”
A melt-and-pour soap base helped simplify this project quite a bit. No need to measure out specific ingredients – just pop the blocks of soap base in the microwave and then add all the fun stuff! We chose a goats milk version to keep your hands feeling soft and supple.
Our favorite soaps usually have a citrus fragrance that leaves us feeling completely clean. We mimicked this combination by pairing lemon with grapefruit, and then dyed our bar soap a soft pink for Valentine’s Day.
