Years ago, I read an interview with the radiant Sofia Vergara, where she expressed that if she could go back in time and change one thing, she’d have started applying sunscreen and anti-aging products to her neck and chest from a young age. If you ask me, Sofia is doing just fine, serving up major goals through her late-40’s, but that did get me thinking about what I’m doing to moisturize and maintain my own décolletage. The answer? Probably not as much as I should be.

Given that this area of our bodies tends to be exposed to the elements as much as our faces, it’s a mystery so many of us leave it as an afterthought.

And it’s often not until much later, after years of neglect, that we begin to scramble for pricey prescription solutions or even surgical options at the first sight of crepey skin. Woof. Fortunately until then, the answer is simple — protect. and. hydrate.

No one does this better than the women below, who are some of the biggest beauty buffs we know. Wondering what tried and tested products they swear by for their anti-aging needs? Keep scrolling for the cream of the crop.

“When it comes to anti-aging products I trust all Sisley products! Full disclosure I don’t use neck/chest anti-aging cream quite yet, but I know they make an amazing one for that area specifically. I use their black rose anti aging face cream and LOVE it though. And of course Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen to prevent sun damage!!!! Whenever I go out for the day, I always make sure to carry the sunscreen down to my neck and chest – because those parts are always exposed to sun too! It’s easy to forget them, but years later I know I’ll be thankful I remembered!”

“My skincare used to end at the chin line, but when I discovered that our necks and chests actually show signs of aging first (the skin there is more delicate), I’ve added those areas into my regimen. I like BareMinerals Ageless Genius Firming and Wrinkle Neck Cream — it targets lines and wrinkles, and makes the entire jawline look more lifted and contoured.”

“Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum is pricey, but honestly, after using it for the last 6 months every single day, I HIGHLY recommend this & know that it’s worth every penny. It’s like liquid gold & smells SO GOOD. It has a little dropper so you can just put a few drops in your hands. I like to do this last in my skin routine at night or use it to prep my face for makeup – kinda like a primer.”

“For something a bit more affordable, rosehip seed oil is perfect. Not only is it an amazing makeup remover, it’s also anti-aging. It helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, eye bags, fine lines & more. Studies have shown that it can also help to reverse the adverse effects of prolonged sun exposure. Need I say more? Rosehip oil is probably my favorite oil. I use it everyday & it also makes a great makeup primer & it’s fab before bed. I typically mix rosehip oil with my CC Cream to provide extra moisture/dewiness to makeup.

Both these products are great for the face, but you want to ALWAYS bring the product down your neck & chest.”

“I’m always on the hunt for clean beauty products that actually work. While a bit pricey, Fitglow Vita-Active Serum is totally worth the price and has won a spot on my beauty shelf. It uses super plant ingredients and full spectrum antioxidants to boost collagen production, improve elasticity, minimize fine lines, and diminish spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation and sun damage, overall reducing signs of aging. I’ve noticed a MAJOR upgrade to the texture and balance of my skin since using this!”

Elizabeth Shaffer, Co-Founder of MASSE

“My favorite anti-aging skincare product is Drunk Elephant’s Protini Polypeptide Cream. We have a really active and passionate beauty community on MASSE, and after seeing so many skincare enthusiasts recommend Drunk Elephant I finally tried it and am now obsessed too! It’s super lightweight, moisturizing without being too heavy, and made with clean ingredients. Totally lives up to the hype!”

I really like the Chest Anti-Wrinkle Pad from SiO. Such a genius and simple idea, and they really work. They’re especially great for preventing lines if you’re a side sleeper or heavy chested. Life changing!

I started using Organic Sweet Almond Oil after reading that the queen of natural beauty (aka Gwyneth Paltrow) swore by it for saving her skin during pregnancy. I’ve been slathering it everywhere (we’re talking hips, butt, thighs, stomach, neck and chest) and it’s not only keeping stretch marks at bay, but keeping my neck and chest ultra hydrated and wrinkle-free. Plus, it’s super affordable!
