My New Years Eve Outfits for Going Out or Staying In

T minus 5 days until New Years Eve, and as usual, I’m faced with the dilemma between going out or staying in. I love the idea of getting glittery and glam and giving 2018 a properly festive sendoff with a sequin skirt and bottle of champagne. On the other hand, stirring a big pot of truffled risotto and curling up by the fire with Adam to talk about our New Years resolutions sounds pretty dreamy too – and we can still pop that bottle of bubbly (obviously.)

At least I’m prepared with an outfit that I’ve set aside for either option, and everything I’m wearing in both of these looks is currently marked down as part of Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale (which is pretty darn unreal.) One other piece of the puzzle that’s making me lean towards the “stay in” scenario: we’ve made it an annual tradition to meet up with friends for an epic New Years Day brunch, so there’s a part of me that wants to save my energy and go to bed early the night before. And maybe I’ll bust out my sequin skirt for January 1st, ’cause why not?!
