With the weather finally warming up, I know many of us are pondering spring cleaning (myself included!) but today I’d like to steer our focus from vacuuming and scrubbing to a more fun topic: the big spring makeup-bag clean. I firmly believe that every woman should, every season, give her beauty stash a good once-over, eliminating any products that are expired, unflattering, or a pain to use (crumbling eyeshadow? Too-dark lipstick? Buh-bye). And, once you’ve weeded out the duds, I think it’s perfectly acceptable to plan some pretty new additions to your “makeup wardrobe.”

Of course, replacing every disposed-of beauty product with a new version would defeat the point of decluttering, so I recommend looking out for one of the beautiful spring palettes that many brands debut at this time of year. You’ll get a lovely collection of colors to play with, but since they’re all conveniently housed in a single compact, you won’t feel like you inundated your vanity with piles of extra stuff.  Click through to check out my favorite makeup collections to ring in my favorite season—aren’t they just lovely?

The Edit Eyeshadow Palette by Estée Lauder

Say what you will about Kendall Jenner, but this palette that she created with Estée Lauder’s new line The Estée Edit is downright gorgeous. A mix of flattering neutrals and smoky shades with a hint of purple, these powders flatter any eye color.

Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palette Sunset Serenade

I’ve always loved the creamy, dewy formulas of Stila Convertible Color compacts, so I was thrilled to see that Stila just came out with two new palettes (each containing five shades) that make it easy to customize your flush. Choose from Sunset Serenade, a warm-toned collection, or Sunrise Splendor, which features cool shades.
