20 Affordable Prints for Art Lovers on a Budget

Gallery-vibes this way.

By Hannah Zahner

I love an art-filled home. There’s nothing better than stepping inside a space to discover a thoughtfully-curated array of pieces that each tell a story. Sprinkled down a hallway or positioned among complementary pieces, affordable art prints can add character to any room with little effort.

I know the struggle well: you’ve just moved into a new home or are looking to transform your apartment, and conversation-starting art is a priority. But things get really pricy, really fast. A few of my favorite thrifty ways to add art to my home are by hunting down estate sale finds, getting my hands messy creating art myself, or browsing all the best affordable art prints. I love shopping for prints because you’re often supporting small independent artists, all without dropping a ton of cash.

While the gallery wall trend may be on its way out, timeless art is forever. With that design truth in mind, we rounded up the best affordable art prints from our favorite online home stores. So cozy up with a cup of tea or your favorite warm-weather drink, take a seat, and get to scrolling. Is there anything better than shopping for art from your couch?

Minted

A favorite among our team for everything from e-vites to Christmas cards. Minted is also an amazing spot to buy original art online from a variety of independent artists. You’ll find plenty of abstract watercolor pieces and modern photography.

Birthday Bouquet by Cyrille Gulassa

The dreamiest hues, all in one cohesive palette. I love the layers of texture and swirls of color this piece incorporates. It’s dramatic, but approachable—as all the best prints should be.

Birthday Bouquet by Cyrille Gulassa, from $24

Rustic Geometry 2 by Iveta Angelova

The second piece in a series of three, this print combines starkly geometric shapes that are warmed by desert-inspired colors. If your style is less terracotta and more pastel-obsessed, you can also choose from six colorways.

Orange Tree by Rachel Roe

I love Cézanne’s series of overturned baskets of oranges, the citrus tumbling beautifully across linen tablecloths. But if you can’t shell out for a post-impressionist painter’s originals (relatable), this stunning print isn’t just a good alternative—it’s a unique, statement-making piece that’ll add interest and depth to any wall.

Orange Tree by Rachel Roe, from $24

Squiggles by Camille Pietrow

Minimalist but playful, this abstract acrylic painting proves that a neutral color palette can create a major impact in modern and traditional spaces alike.

Juli-Julia Matisse Abstract Color Leaf Poster Art Print

I clearly have a thing for Matisse, but really, who doesn’t? I love the squiggly shapes that add a little whimsy and charm to any wall. Personally, I’m thinking of hanging it alongside other abstract pieces above my bed. Statement, made.

Matisse Cut Outs Exhibition Poster

Matisse’s cut-outs are considered to be some of his most career-defining works. Fun fact: When the artist fell ill later in life and could no longer paint, he set to making collages with a pair of scissors and colored paper. With that knowledge in mind, there’s nothing keeping you from proudly displaying this pastel dream in your home.

Matisse Cut Outs Exhibition Poster, $18.75 (reg. $25)
