Fortunately you don’t need a full-time butler to enjoy the benefits of one of the best little rooms in the house — the butler’s pantry. In case you’re not already familiar, a butler’s pantry is a space for staging and arranging food as well as storing china and glassware. In modern day homes, it’s usually found right between the kitchen and dining room. A butler’s pantry always has countertops and storage, but the really amazing ones also have a sink, wine fridge, and other appliances. Even if you don’t have an actual room to serve as a butler’s pantry, you can still enjoy the benefits of a second sink and counter space in your home. Camille has a second sink in her laundry room, and we are constantly using it for floral arrangements, laundering linens, and breaking up big chunks of ice — all while she’s using the kitchen sink to prepare for the next big photoshoot or party. We spent the afternoon browsing the Kohler website and their IDEAS resource to design our fantasy butler’s pantry… we fell in love with the gentlemen’s bar faucet (what else for a butler?) and decided to pair that with a smaller sink for our perfect drink prep station. The whitehaven apron-front sink has always been a favorite in the kitchen, but now that’s it’s offered in a smaller size, we could utilize it in a prep area as well. The apron-front look is so beautiful and would work well in a space where the sink is highly visible in a room, like a wet bar. We’d choose the sink in white for a super classic look. Our pantry would be filled with white dinnerware, fresh fruit for cocktail garnishes, and plenty of rosé. What would your dream butler’s pantry look like?
