In a couple of months, we’ll be making the big move downtown to our newly renovated office bungalow. We can’t wait to have extra space to work on projects and endless storage for our ever-growing supply of props. But really, what we’re most excited about is being blocks away from some of our favorite lunch spots in downtown Austin. Our eyes lit up when we heard a new juice and smoothie bar was opening up just minutes away from our studio. Chanel and I stopped in for some snacks last week and couldn’t stop talking about the raw carrot hummus. Keep reading for the recipe and see why Jugo is going to be our new go-to quick and healthy lunch destination.

Jugo is located in the heart of downtown Austin just a short bike ride away from our new studio. We love that we can order juices and snacks from our smartphones and then pick them up on-the-go. Eating healthy just got a lot easier.
The restaurant was designed by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture and we discovered artful details in every corner. They perfectly combined the historic brick building exterior with modern and bright interior details. We were inspired by these door handles wrapped with hot pink cord.
Jugo’s menu is full of fresh-pressed juices, creative smoothie combos, and freshly-made and packaged snacks — all of which are made in-house daily using the most seasonal, organic, and sustainable ingredients available.
We’ve always been big fans of Cuvée cold brew coffee on tap, and in addition to that, Jugo also offers a cold brew green tea on tap from Zhi Tea. The first of its kind in Austin!
This avocado smoothie was one of our favorite drinks on the menu. The ingredients will keep you feeling full all day long. Just toss everything in a blender, mix, and enjoy.
- frozen avocado, 1.5 oz.
- frozen spinach, 2 oz.
- frozen banana, 3.5 oz.
- fresh-squeezed pineapple juice, 6 oz.
- unsweetened almond milk, 5 oz.

Jugo’s food selections allow you to put together a first-class meal with none of the prep work. I can see myself stopping by the restaurant after work to grab healthy side dishes for dinner at home.
