Guess what? I finally have a slow-cooker in my life! Apparently I dropped enough hints, because my mom and my mother-in-law each got us this beauty for Christmas (yes, we returned one), and my favorite hobby of the new year has been testing out recipes that I can throw in the cooker in the morning… then reap the rewards at the end of the day. I am learning, however, that not all slow-cooker recipes are created equal. There’s a major difference between the mushy, bland quality of some crockpot recipes of the past, and the full-of-flavor, tenderized, comforting dishes we’ve recently been devouring. In honor of these chilly winter days where my tastebuds call out for the latter, thought I’d round up the very best slow cooker recipes I’ve discovered so far. Click through, and I’d love to know in the comments: what’s your favorite slow-cooker recipe? Give me the dish!

These dishes all look amazing! I don’t have a slow cooker, but it’s been on my wish list for a while. I think the pulled pork tacos would be first on my list to try!

I’m feeling inspired to crank up the slow cooker and try the Thai chicken soup. Never imagined making garlic mashed potatoes in the slow cooker but that recipe sounds delicious! Would you please remind me next Thanksgiving 🙂

I will point out that with the thai soup it will be best if you can fry the curry paste before hand. It makes for a much richer flavor than just heat.

If you’re in the mood for pasta, Jessica Seinfeld’s slow cooker lasagna is SO easy, very customizable, and makes the kitchen smell yummy.

I am new to the slow cooker…we are a grilling family but I asked for one for Christmas and have been enjoying many creative meals! Our favorites are chicken and dumplings and pulled pork tacos…I’m excited to try some of these recipes! Camille, I know this is off subject but could you please tell me the color of your linen sheers in your family room I wanted to place an order with RH and have your paint color as well I just wasn’t sure if they were optic whIte or white…which seems more like a cream. Any help would be appreciated…Thank you!

Of course! They are the “white,” which is a very soft white and I think would coordinate with lots of different shades of white or cream on the walls. 🙂 We love them!!!

Camille – don’t forget about crock pot liners! If you haven’t discovered them yet they make clean up SO much easier!
