If I had to describe my eating habits in a nutshell, these toasts would be it. My approach is a lot less cooking and a lot more assembly, and as a result, I’m able to fill my diet with fresh, healthy ingredients, without spending tons of time and energy on it. Some might call it lazy; I call it efficient.

When we first started planning the #31mornings challenge, I knew I wanted to contribute a few breakfast recipes that are catered to people like me who like their first meal of the day to be simple-yet-hearty. I typically like my breakfasts savory — the smoked salmon toast and avocado toast are right up my alley — but for those of you who like sweetness in the morning, we whipped up a tasty almond butter and cacao nib combo just for you.

Oh, and in case you were wondering: Wasa Crackers are a Scandinavian style crisp bread available in most grocery stores. They’re crunchy and light, making them the perfect vessel for just about any topping combination.

    I have some spare crackers knocking around and this has definitely inspired me to be a bit more creative than just dunking them in soup or smothering them in tahini
