Not sure about you guys, but I’m getting a lot more excited about new beauty products this month than any other online purchases.
Since I’m wearing the same few lounge-y outfits day-after-day, there’s a certain thrill to finding a great tinted brow gel or sporting a new lip color around the house (or to look like I made a little effort for my Zoom meetings.)
Besides, who knows when we’ll be able to to go out and get a real facial? We might as well take the best possible care of our skin at home right now. I rounded up my favorite new-to-me beauty products of the month, and shot a little video in my bathroom showing how I’m using them for my current fastest morning makeup routine. Even though I’m “just at home,” I find that taking a few minutes each day to get ready helps me feel more confident, energized, and myself during this time. Watch the video below for how I’m using these products in my daily routine, and scroll on for links to shop them all.
Whether it’s comforting new skincare or makeup for that at-home 5-minute face, these great new beauty products are making my mornings feel a little more like moments of self-care.
Glowy Super Gel, Saie
This multipurpose gel from one of my favorite natural beauty brands can be used as a primer, mixed with foundation, or as a luminescent highlighter anywhere you want some gleam. I personally mix mine with my foundation, and it turns it into a lightweight version that’s perfect for that no-makeup look. A little extra dabbed on my collarbone and cupid’s bow and I suddenly look like a more energized, fresh-faced version of myself.
Conditioning Collagen Lash Primer, LASHFOOD
As someone who always viewed lash primer as a totally unnecessary extra step, I’m actually surprised to admit: I’ve been converted. LashFood sent me their conditioning collagen lash primer to try, and after one feathery coat under my daily mascara, my lashes looked longer, more uplifted, and totally clump-free. Add to that the fact that this formula actually nourishes lashes to make them grow stronger and thicker, and we can officially say: this is the one lash primer that’s made it onto my list of must-haves.
Kush Fiber Brow, Milk Makeup
I’m kind of obsessed with bold, beautiful brows — which is unfortunate because I was not born with them. Microblading has given mine a major boost, but even with that, the right products make a major difference in framing out my face. Enter Kush Fiber Brow from Milk Makeup. A few strokes of this organic and vegan brow gel add tons of natural volume and a hint of color to my sparse brows. It’s made with a nourishing oil that also conditions and protects your brows, avoiding that icky stiffness that so many gels impart. I use the shade called “Herb.” Add just a little at a time, and build until you’ve got the definition you need.
111Skin Meso Infusion Lip Duo
Let’s start by stating the obvious: this is not a cheap lip balm. But when luxury beauty site Violet Grey sent me a few of their bestsellers to try out, I quickly realized why this product has built a cult-following. It’s a dual-ended approach: Step 1 is a plumping lip mask (think needle-free filler!) Step 2 nourishes lips with major moisture and a hint of blush pink color that makes your lips look beestung and bare. It’s a luxurious treat for lips, and when mine runs out, I won’t resist treating myself to another.
The Serum Stick, Tatcha
I ordered this product on a whim, and now I can’t live without it. It’s a hyaluronic acid-packed balm that’s made perfect for both at-home skincare and touch ups on the go. It locks in moisture, targets fine lines and crepiness (that are often just dehydration), and gives skin a major glow. I actually use mine over makeup as a final step to lock in its natural moisture barrier. I touch up later on for a natural dewiness when my skin hits that afternoon slump. Especially around my eyes, it magically seems to make fine lines disappear.
Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum, Versed
According to my dermatologist, everyone over the age of 25 should be using a retinol on their skin to encourage cell turnover. This gentle retinol by Versed is the most affordable high quality retinol that I’ve found. Just as important, it really works. It targets lines and wrinkles, boosts collagen, and evens skintone – all without irritating even the most sensitive skin. I use on almost-dry skin nightly, and then wait 10 minutes before applying moisturizer.
