Am I allowed to say it yet? Okay, I’m just gonna go for it.
It’s okay, I know that the official first day of summer isn’t until June 21st. But for all practical purposes, the season of barbecues and fireflies and pool parties and staying up late on a random Wednesday starts right now. I got back from my work trip to LA late Thursday night, so we kicked off Memorial Day weekend with quite a bit of celebrating. A last-day-of-school park date with friends on Friday afternoon went straight into queso and margaritas at our favorite Mexican spot. Saturday, we had a few friends over for dinner on our back patio. Since it will likely be the last weekend our jasmine is blooming, we savored the scent with a glass of rosé (or a few), and I couldn’t believe how late it was when I finally checked the time. A sign of the best kind of night!
