Here’s How to Set Yourself Up for a Stress-Free Workday

September 24th, 2018

The workday is notoriously known for being…busy. Urgent emails come flying in at all times, that meeting that was supposed to be 15 mins went over by a lot, and the to-do lists seem to keep getting longer even when you’re crossing things off.

Keeping this all in mind, you might think I’m crazy when I tell you that you it is possible to simplify your work day with a few small tweaks, implementing a routine or two, and even the occasional mindset shift. Here are 5 small things that you can try this week to simplify your workday—and help you feel happier in the process.

Definitely great tips! I also like to keep a notebook on my desk all the time. I have a section for my to-do lists to help me prioritize/keep track of everything and then I also have a section ready for any meetings. I have notes ready for any meeting I may run but then there’s space to take notes at meetings run by my coworkers. It makes it easier for me to send those meeting agendas and recaps! Some people may do the same with their computers but for me, for some reason, physically writing things makes my life easier

  2. Can not say how helpful it is to have everything laid out in the morning. It saves valuable minutes. Great post! Atowle|

  3. Love that power hour idea!! I also subscribe to the 40/20 rule – where I try to work on one thing for 40 minutes, and then allow myself to surf the web, take a walk or grab a snack for 20 minutes. Repeat outside of meetings!
