I’m always happy when I have an excuse to cross over to the east side of Austin which just keeps getting better…. and the list of restaurants I want to go to keeps getting longer. Hillside Farmacy is a longtime fave because of the ultra charming décor, but also because this Insta-worthy spot is more than just a pretty space. The “Hillside Fancy” libations and curated comfort food bring a big crowd, especially for weekend brunch. The other day, I snuck in for some afternoon cocktails and the most gorgeous cheese plate I’ve had in a while. Scroll on for what I wore and all the yummy details.
Mickie Spencer and chef Sonya Coté have done an incredible job of paying homage to the historic building, creating an atmosphere that nods at the original Hillside Drugstore from the 1950’s and serves up fresh and healthy farm-to-table fare.
My outfit brings together a few of my fave brands. The vibe feels a little 70’s with indigo wide leg denim and a romantic off-the-shoulder blouse. It’s casual, comfy, and feminine.
Here’s what I ordered for afternoon snacks:
Bubbly Rosé AND an Almond Milk Latté (’cause there’s no such thing as too many beverages)
Farmacy Plate with cheeses, local honey, and seasonal pickles
Other fan favorites:
Brûlée Grapefruit
Fried Egg Sandwich
Mac & Cheese
Hillside Farmacy sources from local farmers and ranchers and forages for seasonal ingredients to create its shareable plates and creative cocktails.
And here’s what I wore:
joie sandal
Homemade fountain sodas come virgin or with booze, and on Monday nights there are half price oysters from the raw bar and $5 prosecco.
Cute cafe tables line the street side tempting me to stay and people watch all day.
