What a week! I always forget how busy the holiday season gets, until December 1st arrives and suddenly it feels like someone yelled “on your mark, get set, go!” Of course, I know that busyness is partially within my own control – I choose how many thing I say “yes” to and often overcommit around this time of year – and I’m determined to not let the season pass me by without a few slow Saturdays and cozy evenings by the fire where all that’s on the agenda is hot cocoa and stacks of books. This weekend’s been pretty low-key, in fact, and the constant rain we’ve experienced has made us cancel a few things that were on the agenda, leaving space for Christmas movies and present wrapping (bliss!) I’d love to hear how you guys intentionally make space in your lives to savor the season, so leave a comment with any tips. And keep scrolling for some great reads from around the web this week, as well as a fun event that I’m co-hosting in Austin tomorrow night!

Can you believe that all of these gorgeous images were from Chanel’s wedding? It was featured on Vogue.com this week — don’t miss the rehearsal dinner pics or the pre-wedding picnic that we shared too (as a guest, I couldn’t decide which was my favorite part.) The photos were taken by Sarah Falugo.
If you’re in Austin, I’m cohosting this fun gift wrapping & book signing event with Domino at BookPeople tomorrow night. Hope to see you there!

For the Domino party, is the book included in the price? Anyhow, the party sounds just about perfect for this time of the year.
Yep, you’ll take home one of the books, and it is so great!!
A bit of a downer for me (honestly) , I booked it through The Book People and saved about $10 for the same thing. Not sure why yours is higher including an extra fee, but it puts a bit of a sour note in my holiday gift wrapping.
Hey Karin! Not sure exactly what you’re referring to here… the fee covers the book, plus attending the event itself and wrapping paper supplies. 🙂
Okay, here it is, you charging $50 plus event fee if one goes through your site, but when you go “The Book People’s website, its $45.47 including tax for the book, and the material for the class. Maybe using your site is about $10 more, which isn’t that much, but I rather not pay more than necessary. Do hope it doesn’t seem like critic, but just wanted to point it out. Thanks, and I am looking forward to the event.
Hey Karin! I’m not sure why there’s a $5 discrepancy between the official event page (it’s not affiliated with my site at all) and BookPeople’s listing, but by all means, purchase the cheaper ticket! Definitely don’t want you guys paying any more than necessary, and I’m glad you found a less expensive option. That’s great! Look forward to seeing you there!
Congrats on the feature with Vogue!!!
