Everything Toast

  • 6 pieces of everything rye bread, toasted (We make our own but I would suggest buying some nice sourdough rye and dressing it up with some everything spice, which in our case, is onion seed, cumin, garlic, poppy seed and ajwan.)
  • 3 c cauliflower mixture
  • 3 T black olive oil
  • fresh herbs
  • For the Cauliflower Mixture:
  • 3 c chopped cauliflower
  • 1 c chopped cashews
  • ¼ c golden raisins
  • ½ T ground cumin
  • ½ T ground black pepper
  • 1/8 c chopped parsley
  • 1/8 c chopped cilantro
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt, to taste
  • For the Black Olive Oil:
  • 1 c black olives
  • extra virgin olive oil


  1.  To make the cauliflower mixture, lightly roast the cauliflower with the extra virgin olive oil in a pan.
  2. When the cauliflower has started to soften, season with salt, to taste.
  3. Add the spices to the pan and toast until aromatic.
  4. Pull pan off the heat and toss in nuts, raisins and herbs.
  5. To make the black olive oil, soak olives in water overnight to remove the salt.
  6. Take olives out of water and let dry completely.
  7. Place dry olives in a blender and blend with extra virgin olive oil to loosen it to a sauce consistency.
  8. To make the everything toast, drizzle part of the black olive oil on toast.
  9. Spoon cauliflower mixture on top.
  10. Drizzle with more of the black olive oil.
  11. Garnish with fresh herbs.
