While we may go back and forth on the slightly embarrassing term “glamping”, we’re 100 percent behind the idea of curated camping experiences. Because, come on —  if there’s anything better than a cold shower after a long hike, it’s a hot shower in a private teak enclosed bathhouse.

Below are six American properties that bring luxury to the great outdoors, from an airstream overlooking the Malibu coastline to a tricked out teepee in the Catskills.

Scroll on to discover six outrageously cool luxury camp sites in the US, and call it whatever you want. Let’s get outside!

Malibu Dream Air Stream

This Airstream glamp site was created by a Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway, and rents it out regularly as well. Stripped down to its bare aluminium studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivalled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Bonus points: the airstream was even featured in Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift’s 2015 Vogue story.

From mid-May to mid-October, the legendary Paws Up Resort offers 36 luxury tents at six different campsites along the base of the Blackfoot River. Each tent is carefully appointed with hardwood floors, fine linens, air conditioning and heat, plus a private, en suite bath with heated slate floors, stylish vanities and Montana-sized showers. Enjoy dinner at the elegant dining pavilion, and for anything else there’s a camping butler at your service. Yes, a camping butler. He exists.

Under Canvas in Zion, Utah

Bordering the Zion National Park in Utah, Under Canvas luxury tents offer guests the opportunity to enjoy Utah’s spectacular desert without giving up the comforts of home. There are several tent options to choose from, but we’re particularly in love with the Stargazer, which has its own viewing window above the king bed to stargaze at night.

Luxurious wool throws and blankets, inside fire pit, custom furniture and cedar floors make the Bellfire Tipi the perfect glamping getaway. It’s located in the Meeker Hollow — one of the best places for stargazing in the state of New York. June and July are peak firefly season, and the best time to book this air bnb gem.
