6 Steps to Creating the Ultimate Spa-Worthy Bath at Home

October 9th, 2018

There’s no denying that the concept of self-care can (ironically) seem overused in today’s social media facing culture. Every day I seem to encounter another person preaching about their self-care or morning routine, which never fails to make me question my own and make me feel like I’m not doing enough. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for taking small actionable steps towards bettering myself on a daily basis, but if you’re anything like me, it can be easy to feel pressure to amp up your self-care rituals to the point that they’re just another thing to add to your already-packed schedule. I have to remind myself that it doesn’t take waking up at 5am to run 10 miles before work or creating a hefty list of daily intentions to make a huge difference in my mental and physical well-being. When I’m feeling stressed or depleted, rather than adding another commitment or setting unrealistic self-care goals for myself, I’ve come to find that it’s better for me to take a step back and make time to do things that I know will fill up my cup. Sometimes, the quickest way to get ahead is to accept that we first need to slow down.

The next time you’re feeling stressed out, overworked, or just have sore feet after dancing too hard at a music festival (thank you, ACL), turn off your phone, pour a tasty bev, and reap the restorative benefits of a simple bubble bath. A 20-minute soak is usually just what the doctor ordered, and we’ve rounded up all the essentials for creating the ultimate spa-worthy experience right at home. Ready, set, bliss out.

I am all about a good relaxing bath (lavender all the way). One of the best things about going home home is that I get to enjoy the bath. Thanks for the tips.
