3 Mindful Eating Habits We Should Practice Every Day

June 14th, 2017

I’m a work in progress. Hopefully, you are too. I believe if we’re not making mistakes, changing our minds, or shifting priorities, then we’re not growing.

I never wanted this column to focus on diet. First, I’m not a scientist, doctor, or nutritionist, so I have zero formal nutrition training. Second, we are complex humans and every one of us has different needs — not just physically, but mentally. And lastly, I don’t want to be a part of a narrative that suggests how you should or shouldn’t live your life. But I do want to share a recent shift in my perspective as it relates to food in the hopes that it inspires or helps.

I especially agree with your first point. It should be a lifestyle not a day to day diet ?

Once you know how your body works it all becomes clear and you get to enjoy eating healhty and feeling great afterwards. In the end I find a great joy in knowing that what I eat (and my family eats) is healthy and delicious as well. This doesn’t mean that you cannot treat yourself with pizza or ice cream some time!! It’s all a matter of proportion I believe and having good eating habits on daiily basis. If the basis are good, a slice of pizza or two will do no harm and you’ll get to enojoy those too!

This was a good read. It made me put things into perspective. I think that starting small like drinking more water and adding greens to your meals will help with seeing gradual change.
