‘Tis the season to sip a warm tea next to the fire, mingle at a holiday party with a steaming cup of spiked cider, or linger in a cozy coffee shop with a book. In case you couldn’t tell, we’re really into hot beverages around here, and everyone knows that a drink is only as good as the mug you’re sipping from.
Though my daytime gig is as the studio manager here at Camille Styles, most of you don’t know that when I leave the office most evenings, I head to my backyard studio and become a working ceramicist deep into the quiet hours of the night. Getting my hands dirty lights a fire inside of me, and knowing how tedious making a simple mug can be makes me appreciate my morning tea that much more. Research is essential with honing any craft, so I’m sharing with you all of the coolest mugs that I’ve found, from small-batch makers inside the studio, to larger producers stocking the shelves at your favorite nearby shop.
