Happy Friday, and welcome to a brand new monthly series that I’ve been wanting to start for quite some time now. You guys know that I’m a product junkie when it comes to wellness and beauty, always getting way too excited about the latest and greatest game-changing items I’ve added to my arsenal. I’ve usually got a little list going in my head of things I’ve been meaning to talk about with you guys, so this new column will be the place where I do it! So, what counts as a “wellness product?”
I’ll be sharing anything that’s making me healthier, happier, and more present, from healthy pantry staples to cool workout gear to anything that’s making my schedule feel more zen.
And I’ve got some real goodies this month. Scroll on for my February picks, and I’d love to hear in the comments what wellness products are changing your life right now.
I had to list this one first, because I discovered this app a couple weeks ago, downloaded it, and it’s since completely transformed my morning routine. I’ve tried other meditation apps in the past (mainly Headspace) and fallen off the wagon after a few weeks of using them out of sheer boredom. This app however has an unbelievable amount of variety to keep my morning meditation feeling both personalized and varied.
30,000 meditation and music tracks, courses and guided series by the world’s top experts, and the ability to choose from meditations based on how much time you have.
There are courses dedicated to better sleep, dealing with anxiety, self love, relationships, being present, and so much more. I’ve been setting my alarm for 15 minutes earlier to do one of these every morning, followed by a little prayer/journaling time, and it’s been the best way to start my morning lately.
You know how every once in awhile, you find a candle that actually perfumes the air even when it’s not lit? Ever since I got this Hollywood Hills candle from FVITH, I keep walking into my living room and thinking “what is that incredible smell?” before realizing it’s the beautiful unlit candle on my coffee table. And then when it actually is lit? Pure heaven.
It’s mainly tuberose, with hints of jasmine, ylang, bergamot, sandalwood and musk. Feminine, sexy, and what I want my house to smell like all spring.
If you’re on the golden milk train (or have just heard about it), this Sunshine Dust is my favorite way to make it at home. This stone ground, hand-blended powder is made in small batches and you can taste the difference, with a powerful punch of ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, and pepper. As the company describes it – “Peppery and fiery, it promises to excite your flavor receptors while simultaneously fighting inflammation, stimulating digestion and improving your immune system.” I blend mine in a milk frother with a cup of almond milk for an afternoon boost without caffeine.
I am very into my circadian rhythm lately — new research shows that our bodies have an incredibly strong internal clock that runs in tandem with the sunrise and sunset, and affects everything from our metabolism to our digestion to our energy levels. These morning and night supplements from Lumity are created to work with your body’s natural rhythm to optimize brain function, antiaging, immune resilience, energy boosting (in the morning), and sleep support (at night.)
This is the next best thing to a nightly trip to the spa. There’s nothing I love more than my evening ritual of settling into my bed with my sunshine dust tea (see above), then wrapping my warm Good Hug Body Wrap around my shoulders while I read or binge The Pharmacist. I place my Hug in a clean microwave & heat for a couple minutes.
I use this every Sunday night after I dermaplane, and it’s like getting a weekly at-home facial. Inspired by professional chemical peels, these refine and brighten skin while you sleep. A powerful level (15%) of glycolic acid and potent fruit extracts (mango, banana, yellow mombin, and Australian kakadu plum) work together with hyaluronic acid — and I swear my skin is GLOWING when I wake up the next morning.
