5 Wellness Products I’m Loving This Month

Self-care is non-negotiable.

I think we can all agree that there has never been a better time to take care of our health. And I’m not just talking about the physical—our mental and emotional wellbeing has also been fast-tracked to the top of our priority list in recent months. This includes reclaiming our rest, creating boundaries, improving our sleep hygiene, and living with intention, so we can perform at our optimum and thrive. For me, that also includes wellness products that help me reach my health goals.

Of course, we don’t recommend doing all of these at once. Start by prioritizing one this month and keeping a journal to track your improvements. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing positive changes in your body and mind as a result of your actions. This month, I have been prioritizing sleep which got completely out of whack as a result of zero boundaries at the beginning of quarantine.

I’ve made a lot of great progress so I’m sharing the one product that’s helped me below along with a few other wellness products I’ve been loving this month in a bid to spread positivity and wellbeing to all of you, too.Wildling Aura Collection Body Gua Sha

Wildling Aura Collection

As a beauty junkie at heart, I’m always up for a double-duty product that ticks both the beauty and wellness boxes. I already use the Wildling empress gua sha stone for my face so when they came out with their body gua sha kit I signed up immediately. I have always struggled with fluid retention and since I sit down at a desk for work I really feel the water weight in my legs by days’ end. This set comes with a body brush to encourage lymphatic flow which you follow with their Aura activator serum to hydrate and boost circulation. Then you coat your legs in the Aura oil to lock in hydration and provide slip for the Aura gua sha stone which is used to break up adhesions and tension in muscles and fascia. I have noticed a huge difference when using this product around 2-3 times a week to encourage circulation, reduce water weight, and improve cellulite.

Integrative Therapeutics Pro-Som - wellness products

Integrative Therapeutics Pro-Som Melatonin-Free Sleep Aid

As I mentioned earlier, my sleep hygiene hasn’t been great since quarantine began but I’ve noticed a huge improvement in recent weeks. I completely reset my sleep schedule and introduced a new evening and morning routine. Now, I wake up earlier when my brain is alert and sometimes I even fit in a workout. Then I shut down my computer around 4 PM and take the dog for a walk or exercise if I didn’t manage it in the morning. Now, that it’s darker earlier, I am making dinner around 5:30-6 PM so I can start winding down for sleep around 8:30-9 PM. On a good day, I tuck myself into bed around 10 PM and set my alarm for 6:30 AM.

One thing that has really helped me with my new sleep routine is the Integrative Therapeutics Pro-Som sleep aid. I love that it’s melatonin free so it doesn’t affect my natural sleep cycle. The biggest improvement I’ve noticed since taking it is I have less frequent waking through the night. I am a very light sleeper so I usually wake up a lot during the night which makes me feel tired throughout the next day. Pro-Som is formulated to support alpha brain wave activity which promotes relaxation and reduces waking after sleep onset. This is one of those wellness products you know will give back.

Nature of Things Restorative Floral Bath

Nature of Things Restorative Floral Bath

There are two wellness points this product hits for me. Firstly, its aesthetically pleasing packaging looks beautiful on my vanity or bathroom nook which also serves as a self-care reminder to soak my limbs and rest. Secondly, the heady fragrance of plumeria, jasmine, vetiver, and cedarwood evoke immediate calm whenever I pour the milky blend into a running bath. I’m not typically one for a bath essence like this but I highly recommend this for that weekly restorative soak.

Molekule Air Purifier

Molekule Air Purifier

In the last several years, a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air. Sounds crazy, right? But it’s true. I also live in Los Angeles where recent fires have had a devastating impact on air quality—it wasn’t even great before that! So, I invested in a Molekule and I love it! This is one of those wellness products that looks good while it’s working hard. I keep it close to my dining room table (which now serves as my home office!) so it can purify and protect while I type. I love it so much that I’m considering buying their new mini for our bedroom.

Alo Yoga Warrior Mat

Alo Warrior Mat

Ever since lockdown, I have stepped up my at-home workouts but I have concrete floors in the living and dining area so I needed to invest in a mat that would serve as a barrier and would protect my knees. I’ve tried a lot of yoga and exercise mats over the years but there always seems to be something that isn’t quite right, that is until I met the Alo Warrior Mat. It is perfectly cushioned for joint support not to mention, it’s also antimicrobial and slip-free, wet or dry. I love to mix up my workouts from dance cardio to HIIT and yoga, so I definitely need something that can handle sweat!
