The Camille Styles Cleanse

As we say goodbye (and good riddance!) to the long winter, I’m probably not the only one who’s thinking about getting a little healthier for swimsuit season spring. I’ve got to admit that a crazy schedule last month (blame it on SXSW) caused me to neglect my workout routine and consume a few too many breakfast tacos. So, in the spirit of fresh starts, our team has deemed it the perfect time to invite y’all to join us for the first ever #CamilleStylesCleanse, kicking off next week on April 4th! Before anyone gets nervous, let’s get a couple things out of the way: First, unlike a juice cleanse, this one is not about deprivation, it’s about nourishing your body with good-for-you ingredients that will make you feel energized and generally awesome. Second, you won’t have to spend lots of time preparing complicated meals. We’ve kept things simple and delicious, and to give you maximum bang-for-your-buck, I’m providing tons of ideas on how to use your leftovers to make meals stretch a little further. So without further ado, I’ve laid out the “rules” for our 7-day cleanse below — then click through the slides for your week’s worth of recipes.

  1. Processed foods, refined sugar, and gluten are out.
  2. Dairy, meat, and seafood can be consumed moderately.
  3. Vegetables, in-season fruits, nuts, seeds, healthy grains, and avocados to be consumed in abundance.
  4. Have 1 cup of coffee in the morning if you’d like — max.
  5. Enjoy up to 3 glasses of wine spread throughout the week. But not on the same night.
  6. Practice the Japanese tradition of hara hachi bu, meaning: Eat until you are 80 percent full. This will involve making a conscious effort to eat slowly, put your fork down between bites and check-in with yourself to see if you’re still hungry.

Remember, a cleanse is a commitment to yourself alone, so it’s up to you how closely you stick to these rules… though I guarantee you’ll feel better and more energetic if you just get on board and do them! Who knows, you might love this new lighter feeling so much that you decide to incorporate a few of the healthy habits into your diet for the long haul. Since it’s proven that our communities can be a major influence (good or bad) on our eating choices, I’m pumped to devote a week to eating healthfully and trying out some delicious new recipes together.

Click through the slides for your 7-day menu, then leave a comment below and let me know what questions you have about the program! This Friday, I’ll be writing a dedicated FAQ post to answer everything y’all might be curious or confused about so we’re all ready to kick it off together next Monday. Let’s do this!

This is such a great idea! I could certainly use a week of healthy eating, although the no sugar thing will be a bit rough. Thanks for all of the meal suggestions. That is so helpful!

  2. Julia says:

I love this idea and can’t wait to try out these delicious recipes. Can you share a shopping list for the week?

    1. Camille Styles says:

Yay! A lot of people have been asking for that… stay tuned, I’ll post one later this week!

  3. Tasha says:

I just might do this. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a cleanse. Sugar will be the hardest for me, without a doubt.

  4. Lucia says:

I am in love with the menu ! Thank you Camille !

  5. La says:

Oh, you are speaking my language with this post! Count me in!
Ps. I made your poke bowl last week for dinner and loved it! I added a splash of sesame oil to the dressing but didn’t change anything else…thanks for the inspiration 🙂

    1. Camille Styles says:

So glad you’ll be joining us — and that makes me want to make that poke bowl for dinner tonight! Sooo delish!

  6. Marina says:

The recipes look delicious! I am thinking of giving it a try…..but my “one cup of coffee” may be very large 🙂

    1. Camille Styles says:

Haha, you’ve got to make it your own!!

  7. Jessie says:

I’m so on board! I’m finishing up a month of whole30 and have been looking for a way to ease back into some of the foods I haven’t had while still staying healthy and keeping everything in moderation. A grocery shopping checklist would be really helpful, I’ll be checking what I have in my pantry and stocking up this weekend!

    1. Camille Styles says:

Thanks Jessie, I’ve gotten this feedback from a few other people and am planning to post a shopping list later this week. So excited you’ll be joining us for the cleanse!

  8. Maura Gegenwarth says:

I jumped ahead and made the berry chia smoothie this morning! Delicious! I’m 38 weeks prego so not sure I will get to do this with everyone here but have bookmarked it for sure- looks good and reasonable!

    1. Camille Styles says:

Oh I’m so glad! That smoothie is definitely one of my faves.

  9. Cassie says:

This sounds great! Not sure if you’re a nursing mom, but do you have suggestions on how to compensate for additional calories needed to support nursing mamas and babies? I’ve been nursing nine months strong, but every time I try to cut calories, my milk supply suffers.

    1. Camille Styles says:

GREAT question, and I’ve already talked to more than one nursing mama today who’s going to be doing the cleanse. Stay tuned for the FAQ’s this Friday!

  10. mj says:

totally on board with this…just the motivation i needed!

    1. Camille Styles says:

Yay! You and me both… so glad you’re excited.

  11. Al says:

well I’m considering 80% dark chocolate to be a healthy fat like avocados right off the bat! this whole thing is a great idea because until we stop and take an honest look at what our daily diet looks really looks like we can’t be true about eating healthy for a happy body. right on!

  12. Kadi says:

I am so excited to jump on board with this! I was planning on doing a 7 day detox next week, so this is perfect 🙂 I look forward to seeing your shopping list post. Thank you <3

  13. Danette K. says:

Great idea! Love the recipes you have posted, I can’t wait to try some of them. Thank you for sharing!

  14. Ivana @ The Charming Avenue says:

Oh, this sounds just awesome! March has been a hard month for me, and per usual, my healthy habits were the first to jump the ship, when things got crazy. So I’m more than ready for a reset and this cleanse would be a great place to start! Looking forward to reading more!

  15. Amy V. says:

Is there any way to have each day on one downloadable pdf? Not including recipes, just the overview of each day. It is just easier for me visually to have it all compiled on one document so I can get a complete overview of what I should expect through the week instead of coming back to the website each time.

  16. Elizabeth Dunn says:

Hi I click on Launch Gallery and I can’t see anything…just Monday slightly down the left side. everything else is white in the middle. Please help!

    1. Camille Styles says:

Elizabeth — sorry about that, we’re experiencing a technical bug today. Working to get it fixed asap!

      1. Camille Styles says:

Back up and running — thanks for bearing with us!

  17. Natalie says:

Looking forward to trying the recipes. I do not eat fish. Any suggestions what I can take instead?

    1. Camille Styles says:

Wonderful! On the superfood salmon salad, you could easily omit the salmon and instead add more avocado and nuts… I also sometimes add a scoop of quinoa which is delicious!

  18. Nansglams (@nangalarza) says:

WOW! Just finished our 7th day. I’ve been told that I’m a great cook, but these recipes made us feel like we were eating gourmet! Feeling energized both in spirit and body. We will be eating like this full time with a little, hmmm, cheating once in a while. Thanks for the fabulous cleanse 🙂

    1. Camille Styles says:

Amazing! Thanks so much for sharing Nan!
