I have this weird thing with fruit — I don’t like it in things. I love berries and stone fruit and citrus on their own always, but when it comes to tossing those same things into a bowl with yogurt or a salad and even dessert, count me out. It’s an aversion I’ve had for as long as I can remember, […]
2016 was the year that I finally boarded the persimmon train. I know, I know: those of you who were early adopters are shaking your heads in bewilderment that I’ve made it this far in my adult life without falling in love with persimmons, but there you have it. I’d always walk right past the […]
Eden Grinshpan’s recipe for Pomegranate, Beet and Hazelnut salad is as flavorful as it is beautiful. Beets can be a bit tricky, but the way they are prepared here are absolutely delicious. She roasts them in the oven for about 4o minutes with vinegar and orange peel. The result? A beet with a delicious and milder […]

This post is sponsored by Mars SEEDS OF CHANGE® and Target It’s become a running Thanksgiving joke at our house. Each year when I start planning the menu for our family feast, everyone else votes to have the exact same menu items as last year, but I just can’t help myself from spicing things up with something a little different. […]
The first time I ever asked a chef to divulge a secret recipe, it was for a salad dressing. My parents had taken me out to a fancier-than-usual dinner to celebrate my 16th birthday, and we all fell in love with the house salad — which was surprising, since it was really just a simple mix of field […]
Summer is definitely my favorite time of year: beach trips and endless hours spent outside are just a couple of the reasons I wish the season could last forever. Another thing that makes summer summer is the bounty at the farmers market, which I frequent at least once a week. I cannot get enough! Right now is the best […]
From Bonni: “This refreshing summer salad is so easy to make – all you have to do is combine the ingredients and serve! A watermelon arugula goat cheese salad is the perfect recipe for the busy hostess.” Read the full story here: Entertaining With Bonni Taylor
From Bonni: “I love this raw corn summer salad because it is so refreshing! Feel free to add whatever seasonal veggies are available. You can certainly make this ahead of time and keep refrigerated, but I suggest adding the okra right before you serve because it can get slimy.” Read the full story here: Entertaining With […]

I’ve made some version of this soba noodle and mango salad for the past few summers and, without fail, people go nuts over it. Full of thai flavors like lime, peanuts and a profusion of herbs, it’s really the crunchy coconut throughout the salad that takes it over the top and makes people stop and say, […]

Would you agree that lunch is the meal where it’s easiest to get stuck in a rut? Most days I toss together a quick salad with some protein, or just mash up a sweet potato — but lately I’ve been taking just a little extra time to make a grain bowl (mostly with leftovers from the […]
Would you guys eat salad for breakfast? I have to admit that it’s something I would never have considered a couple years ago, but as I’ve gotten more into savory breakfasts (and started filling my smoothies with loads of spinach), suddenly the idea doesn’t seem so crazy. And there’s no doubt that starting things off […]
